About Me
- Name: Stoy Jones
For the most part, I'm a self-taught artist. I spent my life drawing and did a few freelance cartooning jobs for local businesses. By 2004, I turned my attention to painting by first experimenting with pastels, watercolors, and now settled on oils as the preferred medium. I am currently a member of the local artcenter and take classes to further my skills. What follows here are sketches, drawings, and paintings that I do to practice observation and improve draftsmanship. Enjoy!

Hey Stoy, good to see your blog is back up. This is the first time I looked since you stopped doing the blog.
I like the cabin step by step painting. But I really like the snow one just before. That came out really good. Snow is difficult to paint but your got the groove on in that painting.
Randy, thanks for stopping by and the compliment. I'm glad to be back painting! I'm interested in trying to tackle other kinds of snow, more muted and atmospheric. Will see how that goes.
